Electric motorcycles, though still in their infancy, are starting to gain a foothold in the marketplace. As costs start to come down and battery technology improves you’re likely to see more and more of these quiet two-wheelers on road and off. As it stands now, the biggest hurdle for electric motorcycles is range. While their gas sipping cousins can travel a couple hundred miles on a tank, electric motorcycles are struggling to approach half that range. However, electric motorcycles are inexpensive charge up and maintenance costs should also be lower. Smaller manufacturers are currently leading the electric motorcycle charge, but the major manufacturers are not ignoring this new technology.
